History

The Early Years:

Jon and Jennifer were introduced many years ago by common friends, but the romance between them was still years away. They ran into each other and always shared a laugh, but the 3 year age difference is much more prominent in your teenage years.

Jennifer couldnít believe her eyes in 1997 when she saw Jon all grown up: being away to college and years of football had taken their toll, and he came home a handsome cowboy. Never thinking she had a chance with him, she took on the buddy role, and they became best of friends. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she was sure she could win him over someday!

The Montana Move:

Growing tired of life in the city, and always having loved Montana, Jennifer packed up and headed east to try something new. They kept in close touch, talking on the phone for long hours every day, while Jen started over and got a new perspective and a new life.

As Jennifer opened her business, and acquired a few horses, Jon became more and more interested. He started coming over to visit more often, and then inviting Jen along on trips to North Dakota for farming. She knew she finally had him!

Wedding

When Jon and Jennifer started talking about getting married, the big question was where to have such an event. With the beauty of Glacier National Park so close, it seemed only fitting to have it in the Lake McDonald Lodge. With Jennifer’s work in the park, it was fun to plan and work with people she knew.

Lake McDonald Lodge has been used for many weddings, but never in this context. It was a bit challenging to get approval for such an event, and a wonderful joy to hear it would be possible. When Jon and Jennifer came up to look at the Lodge, he had not yet proposed. After reviewing the Lodge, they walked down towards the water where he gave her the ring. That is where it all began!

The Wedding Day, May 29, 2003, was an exceptional day. A rare 85 degree day at the end of May is unheard of in the mountains of Montana! The wedding was perfect, everything a bride and groom could ever hope for.

House

After settling into life in Whitefish, Jon and Jennifer bought some land on the outskirts of town. Close to town, yet quiet and peaceful, the property is a wonderful place to raise a family.

After purchasing the sixteen acres, Jon developed three two acre lots at the back of the property and created theConagher Acres subdivision.

This left ten acres for our house.
